My brother and I were brought up around motorcycles. . My father has been a member of the Greenville Enduro Riders Association since the 70's and President for several years. They host one of the oldest enduros in the US, the Little Brown Jug.....boasting some 60+ years running. My family has spent many weekends at the racetracks supporting my father's racing efforts. Racing has always been a family affair and that still holds true today.

After losing my right arm to a lawn mower incident at age 2, I became the proud rider of a Suzuki JR50. It was a great day! My brother, John, was born shortly after (1977) and in time, learned to ride, as I did. As time went on, we transitioned from riding around the pits, while our father raced, to acquiring larger bikes and competing in enduros and eventually the local MX tracks. Late in my teens, we had lost the desire to race and found other ways to fill our time. Little did I know, racing is a hard habit to kick!

My father had a aquired a 1982 Honda Ascot several years earlier and he and my brother stumbled across a dirt track in Neeses, SC called Mid Carolina Speedway. I had relocated at the time and couldn't make it to the track, but, when we talked, he always kept me up to speed with the racing and the great people that were helping him at the track. I was able to make to one of his last races and I am extremely grateful for that. He had been training, since he started racing and appeared to be in the best health I had ever seen.

Unfortunately, his career was cut short at the end of 04' due to alcohol poisoning. That was the most difficult point in my life. At the time, I had no concept of GOD, until I came across a person, who I would describe as an angel. That night, he shared Christ and I listened. We prayed together and that night I  begged GOD to save me from myself and be with my family after the loss of my brother. The next day, I was reborn! I will never forget that day. I knew John was with GOD and I now had a calling to fulfill. My racing career has soared in following years because I realized that with GOD, miracles happen everyday to ordinary people, just like me. GOD takes ordinary people and gives them extraordinary talents. My success has enabled me opportunities to share my story with vasts amount of the public from newspapers and magazines to national TV appearances. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about John. I know he is with GOD and they are looking down on my family with a smile. My parents TRULY are the real heroes and none of this would have been possible without their love and support. They're the best and I cherish them everyday. My best qualities I draw from them both.
